I am a 4th year Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Student taking a 6-month placement at FastBlade as part of my master's degree. At FastBlade, I am responsible for the manufacture of tidal turbine blades using composite material.

During my placement, I was responsible for designing the process and manufacturing tidal turbine blades. Through this, I have developed my CAD and CAM skills as well as developed my knowledge of best practices for how to manufacture composite materials.

This placement has exposed me to an invaluable wealth of knowledge, being able to communicate with industry professionals and academics has allowed me to broaden my knowledge of composites and manufacturing with them.
